I had big plans for this past weekend. BIG I tell ya. For a week I looked forward to being alone in the house. It was to be me with no interruptions, except for the dogs of course. I was giddy with anticipation. I had already purchased the material and decided on a design. I chose bright colors and a child’s theme. It was “playtime” from the time Aaron and Alyssa left to the time they returned, which was pretty much 5:30 on Friday to about 2 or 3 on Sunday afternoon. You see, it was to be my first attempt with a machine stitched quilt.. freezer paper, appliqué, the whole bit. Nothing big for most, but for me freezer paper is huge stuff. I’ve never used it, not even on beef or chicken. I’ve been reading up on techniques and such and was ready to give it a whirl. But, as fate would have it, life got in the way. I left work early sick and just a little after that Aaron called saying he was sick too; some kind of coughing croup stuff…couldn’t catch my breath. Actually, Aaron and I are still suffering. So, there went Aaron and Alyssa’s trip, my alone time, any fun for anyone in my family. We all just laid around the house feeling sickly. Poor little Goose, bored out of her mind. Nothing accomplished but a bunch a coughing which means the quilt I had planned to be able to show you today will probably not be complete until next weekend. Hopefully.
